Megan Dunn is a Dallas-based entertainment attorney representing
creative professionals with a focus in the music and film
industries. She has been licensed to practice law since 2017 and
negotiates licensing deals, production agreements, recording
contracts, talent agreements, and handles intellectual property
matters on behalf of her clients.
Before she became an attorney, Megan accumulated many years of
experience in the entertainment industry. She has contributed to
artist development strategies, organized showcasing events for
live music performances, and skillfully pitched songs for film and
television opportunities. Megan earned her Bachelor of Arts from
Belmont University in Nashville, TN, where she studied Songwriting
and Music Business. Her first-hand experiences as a
singer/songwriter working in the heart of Nashville's famous Music
Row district inspired her to pursue her legal career, helping
other creatives navigate a tough industry she fought through
herself as an artist. From working the merch table at rock shows
to appearing in music videos, Megan has garnered a wide variety of
first-hand industry knowledge that has helped her become a
valuable resource to her clients.
With a mission to support the growing entertainment industry in
her home state of Texas, Megan attended Baylor University School
of Law. During her time at Baylor, Megan served as President of
the Entertainment Law Society and gained valuable experience as a
Judicial Intern to Justice Nora Longoria of the Thirteenth Court
of Appeals.
Since establishing her own practice, Megan has remained dedicated
to serving her clients in the entertainment industry. She has also
served on the Council of the State Bar of Texas Entertainment and
Sports Law Section ("TESLAW") as well as the Dallas Bar
Association's Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law Section.
In her free time, Megan enjoys spending time with her husband and
their daughter. She also plays guitar, enjoys coffee, traveling
and learning other languages.
